Mutual Relations, 2013
Acrylic on Canvas
16 inches x 20 inches
Symbiotic relationships allow each of the participating organisms benefits. In obligate mutualism the interacting species are interdependent and cannot survive without each other. Many plants produce fruits that are eaten by birds, and the birds later drop seeds far from the parent plant insuring the spread of the plant offspring. Our universe illustrates countless relationships of this very nature. You are likely in such a relationship right now whether you are aware of it or not.
